2 Samuel 7:18-22 [Amplified Bible]
19Then as if this were a little thing in Your eyes, O Lord God, You have spoken also of Your servant’s house in the far distant future. And this is the law for man, O Lord God!
20What more can David say to You? For You know Your servant, O Lord God.
21Because of Your promise and as Your own heart dictates, You have done all these astounding things to make Your servant know and understand.
22Therefore You are great, O Lord God; for none is like You, nor is there any God besides You, according to all [You have made] our ears to hear.~
After hearing Nathan’s words about what God would accomplish through David and his family, David responded in a prayer of thanksgiving that provides an excellent structure for your own prayers of thanksgiving. Spend some time today reflecting on how god has blessed you and your family. Be specific. How has He blessed you in good times? How has He sustained you in times of suffering? What have you learned during the good times? During the difficult times? What ways has God used you in other people’s lives?
As you pray today, use your reflections to offer your thanks to God for His involvement in every part of your life.
Sovereign Lord, David’s God and mine, I am as amazed as David that You would love me and care to attend to my needs. I thank You for all that You’ve done. There is no like You, O Lord! Amen.
