~ The Lord is gracious and righteous ; our God is full of compassion. The Lord protects the simple-hearted; when I was in great need , he saved me.~
While visiting a neighboring country, Millie was overwhelmed to find so many items for sale that were unavailable at home. She eagerly stocked up on many useful items—beyond what she needed. But as she prepared to board the small plane for her flight back, she suddenly realized that these things out her far over her weight limit. She was forced to leave almost all of it behind.
Millie complained to the Lord and was shocked when the Holy Spirit showed her how ungrateful and faithless she was being. She repented of her attitude and asked God to help her. Not long after that, Millie discovered a new place in her city where she could buy all the things she had left behind. As she gathered what she needed, she heard God say, “You see, my daughter, I am a generous Father and I want to bless you, but you must learn to trust me.”
God is a faithful Father, and we must resist the temptation to take matters into our own hands when he doesn’t seem to be acting on our behalf.
Meditate on Philippians 4:19 and ask God to deepen a practical trust in him.
