Daily Devotional: In the Desert

Desert%20Landscape Exodus 2:15

~When Pharaoh heard this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from

Pharaoh and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by the well.~

We commonly call times of inactivity ‘deserts’. They occur when God draws us apart  for a season, as he did with Moses, and strips us of our busyness and our ability to operate in our strengths. He as not abandoned us, and he is not judging us. These can be precious times when we listen to God with new intensity. In these times we recognize anew our dependency on him, and our intimacy with him is deepened. This deep relationship must be our foundation if we are to fully embrace our destiny in Jesus Christ.

Are you in a desert experience? What can you do to deepen your intimacy with God in this situation?
